Version 4.15.0-1 Scheduled Release is out for pfSense® and ASUS® and VyOS® as of 6 October 2025.
It includes new features to enable better visibility on how DNS enforcement is happening.
Muscle changes on all platforms:
- Added Resource Record type filter (e.g. to block TXT records by policy)
- Added support for DNAME resource record type
- Improved DNS cache (added traversal and reconstruction)
- Added Logging DNS hijack visibility (UDP) queries and answers to assist in discovery of assets using DNS other than what’s been network-assigned
- Fixed NetBIOS name update in device listing
- DNS rebind protection colour fixed to be red (blocked) on live log display
- IP-to-DNS cache in traffic log is matched to open hole length
- Resolved an issue with two unhandled cases of assigning discovered devices to enablers
- Added optimizations for adding/removing devices to Enabler tables
- Re-worked profile schedule assignments for better handling of default policies
- Added Extended DNS Error (EDE) functionality as per RFC 8914
- Fixed a bug where a post rules processor change required a service restart to take effect for devices on a schedule
- Fixed an issue where System Resolver change would not take effect
- Fixed a case where schedule profiles had no times specified
- Disabled DNSSD discovery as it was causing device assignment issues
- Added provisional support for Do53 UDP hijacking visibility on VyOS
- Fixed

- Dropped support for pfSense 2.7

Note on automatic upgrades
During adamone-setup configure installation wizard, we recommend the default to automatically upgrade adam:ONE® software. When that default is selected, the attempt will be made based on contents in /etc/crontab (pfSense®) or cru l (on ASUS®).
