On the old dashboard we were able to delete a rule even if it was turned on on some policies. Right now we have to turn it off for all policies before it can be deleted.
Is this by design?
That is correct. By disabling a rule before deleting it, the full effects of the change are made more clear. This is designed to limit accidental side effects from deleting a rule.
Would still be nice to have that option, especially if one has up to 100 policies.
In the future, we plan to make it easier to add or remove a list to many policies. That will allow us to keep this safety, but still make it possible to make larger changes.
