in Toronto and now I’m getting Detroit as my mfa “conform location” on my Azure authentication?

No we do not do any type of proxying that would affect your geo location.
The only thing that could affect it is sometimes geo location is done by DNS, so if the upstream resolvers are different, for eg. if it used to be your ISP and now it’s Quad9, that could affect geo location.
