ISC DHCP server warning in pfsense says it is EOL. Is it ok to just go ahead and switch to the new KEA server?
It depends, the Kea DHCP service does not support HA or DNS hostname integration. If neither of those are needed then yeah go ahead and switch to it.
MSS customers want the HA functionality right? A quick google search shows kea as supporting HA, as in multiple nodes. And am i using dns hostnames integration? What is it?
There’s a difference as to what Kea itself supports and what pfSense® has implemented.
If you’re an MSS client, you would have HA so we wouldn’t want to switch to Kea yet. And regarding hostnames if you reference names on your network based on DHCP instead of the dashboard name, then you might be using it.
